CarTrawler is a leading car rental and mobility solutions platform headquartered in Dublin. The acquisition of Koala marks CarTrawler’s strategic entry into the insurtech vertical, expanding its travel ancillary platform to meet growing demand for integrated insurance products.

Founded in 2018, Koala offers innovative insurance solutions, including “Cancel For Any Reason” cover, automatic protection against trip disruption and missed connections, and flexible, customisable coverage options. Koala’s products are embedded directly into the booking flow, enabling partners to deliver an improved customer experience through faster claims processing, more flexible refund options and a seamless journey.

The deal that OC&C helped with supports CarTrawler’s ambition to become the leading multi-product ancillary platform for the global travel industry, while enhancing the capabilities of its Connect Platform and unlocking more value for travel partners and travellers alike.
