Early in my corporate career I was assigned work with a consulting group for 3-4 months on a high-profile internal project. I enjoyed the work so much when it was finished I sought out a role in consulting and never looked back!
My entry pathway was a little different to most, I worked with the Australian team for 12 months as a contractor prior to joining the firm full time. From the start it was obvious there was great synergy with the type of work we do and the people were great; it was an easy decision to join!
Many recent projects have been supporting private equity investors in evaluating investment opportunities in the technology sector, most commonly known as commercial due diligence.
These are often fast paced projects where we spend a few weeks learning about a new industry vertical or niche that we haven’t come across before and it is always a challenging but enjoyable process.
We will often meet management teams, speak to industry experts, run consumer surveys, conduct marketing modelling and competitor analysis and assess the internal performance of the business within a few weeks, so quite a variety.
I enjoy the variety of work and the fact that no project is ever the same. In addition, the opportunity to collaborate with a global team with similar interests in the technology landscape is great.
Just to continue to enjoy my work, have happy, satisfied clients and to support the Australian practice as it establishes itself as a leading adviser in our chosen segments in the APAC market.
