We are delighted to announce we appointed Kim Chua as a Partner in the firm’s global Telecoms, Media and Technology (TMT) sector team, effective immediately.

Kim joins OC&C with over 20 years experience in corporate and commercial strategy, with particular depth of expertise within broadcasting, helping traditional linear broadcasters pivot to digital and expand their over-the-top (OTT) offerings. She served as Head of Strategy at Channel 4, where she spent seven years leading the corporation’s digital strategy in the face of the industry disruption from streaming services, in addition to handling regulatory issues, such as evaluating privatisation options.

Kim’s most recent role was a Director at NOW, Sky’s OTT streaming business, where she led the distribution of NOW via partnerships with telcos, smart TV manufacturers and US platforms such as Apple and Amazon. She has also consulted for Paramount, driving the shift of their Canadian business from B2B to D2C through to the launch and rollout of their streaming businesses, Paramount+ and Pluto. Other notable positions include the position of Chair at Freeview, where she led the organisation’s shift towards a hybrid IP-linear model.

Kim also holds consulting experience having worked with PwC and Spectrum Strategy Consultants (now Value Partners), with whom she worked on a wide range of media and telecommunications projects for high-profile corporate and private equity clients.

Kim’s experience adds to the global TMT team’s portfolio of expertise that serves some of the world's biggest media and entertainment brands across TV, broadcast and production and magazine publishing. She will be based in OC&C’s London offices but will work with consumer media clients that span OC&C’s global footprint, which now numbers 14 offices, after the firm fully integrated Australian Strategy Partners (ASP) into the business earlier this year.

Commenting on her appointment, Kim said: “The opportunity to join OC&C is an exciting next step in my media and broadcasting career. Not only is it highly regarded by clients for its uncompromising approach to delivering quality and value, it operates with a clear respect for and investment in its people, which are reflections of my own values. I look forward to bringing my experiences from the coal-face of media strategy and strategy execution to enable OC&C to continue to support and grow its impressive client list.”

Mostyn Goodwin, Partner, OC&C Strategy Consultants said: “The media industry continues to undergo profound change and Kim has been at the front of much of this innovation in recent years. Kim’s combined consulting and in-house experience with the some of the industry’s largest players will provide a valuable real-world perspective for our consulting clients.

“Over the last 20 years, we have built a world class, global media consulting team, developing successful long-term partnerships with the some of the world’s largest media and entertainment businesses. Kim’s appointment will allow us to build on what has been a strong start to the year and we are delighted to have her on board.”
