OC&C advises Alkemia on the creation of a hub for premium fresh pasta and ready meals

We are pleased to congratulate Alkemia SGR on the creation of Convivio, an operating company created to aggregate and enhance leading quality food companies, with a focus on fresh pasta and ready meals.  The companies under the new Convivo entity include:

• Valsugana Sapori (Trentino)
• Parmachef (Emilia-Romagna)
• Casanova Food with the brand Pasta di Venezia and Pastificio Cecchin (Veneto)
• Poggiolini (Tuscany)

OC&C supported the transactions by providing buy-side commercial due diligence.

The initiative aims to meet market demand by creating an industrial player in the food sector capable of consolidating the best Italian regional culinary traditions and becoming, over time, a leading international player.

Convivio’s mission is to equip its companies to face the challenges of today’s food market, offering a broad and diversified product portfolio that highlights quality, innovation, and Italian culinary tradition.

The aggregation will allow the portfolio companies to achieve the scale needed to access key distribution channels (mass retail, modern trade, horeca), with a diversified range that includes regional specialities and “healthy” niche products, such as gluten-free and lactose-free items, which are experiencing rapidly growing demand.

For the portfolio companies under the holding (still led by founding families and long-standing management) Alkemia SGR foresees major commercial synergies driven by a growth strategy supported by cross-functional investments in production, marketing, communication, and international expansion.

The strategy is guided by a strong ambition: to become the benchmark in fresh pasta and gastronomy prepared meals through an innovative industrial model that enhances the art of Italian flavours.
