Mansi, Associate Consultant
What was your background prior to joining OC&C?
My journey to OC&C was very unique. I was fortunate to have an international childhood spanning across India, the US, Singapore and the UK. I studied Economics at the University of Warwick, during which I interned at various investment banks. After graduating from the University of Warwick, I joined a FinTech start-up as an Insights Analyst, wherein I developed new market propositions and worked across Sales, Marketing, and Product.
I enjoyed working at a fast paced start-up but wanted to broaden my skillset, challenge myself further and work across multiple industries. This led me to join OC&C as an Associate Consultant!
What’s your favourite OC&C experience?
The steep learning curve we experience on each project is definitely my favourite aspect of OC&C. On the first day of the project, I often find myself not knowing much about the industry. Throughout the course of the project, you have the opportunity to really engage with the industry and the unique problems we are solving for the client. By the time I get to the last week, I am always pleasantly surprised by how much I have learned about the industry and its challenges! It’s truly the best part of the job for me.
What do you like to get up to in your free time outside the office?
In my free time I love to exercise and have recently taken up boxing. I find it to be a great way to channel my energy and stay healthy! I also enjoy taking weekend trips to different cities in Europe, meeting friends, and discovering new food markets in London!
What advice would you give to someone applying at OC&C?
If you think you are interested in Consulting, my advice would be to not over-think and hit the apply button! It’s easy to think that you need to be a finished product before you apply. That is far from the truth! The nature of the job is such that we learn so much on the job.
As an applicant, I would advise you to use the application and interview process to understand whether this is the type of role you can learn and grow in.
