Abby, Consultant

What was your background prior to joining OC&C?

I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2017 with a BA in Philosophy and played for the university badminton team during my time there. I did an internship at OC&C after my second year of university. Having really enjoyed my experience, I started full-time here straight after university!

What’s your favourite OC&C experience?

The third month into my time at OC&C, I got to go to Shanghai to do a strategy project for an FMCG company. It was great meeting, making friends with and working with people from another office. I even got to join the Greater China office Christmas dinner and woke up early the next day to go on a hike with the team.

What do you like to get up to in your free time outside of the office?

On the weekends, I like to make the most of the time (and cheap budget airline flights) and travel somewhere close in Europe with friends while documenting it on my Instagram. Food, especially brunch, also feature heavily in my free time – it’s a great way to bond and catch up with friends!

What advice would you give to someone applying at OC&C?

Whilst performing well in an interview is really important, take the time to find out whether the job is really for you. When you apply to OC&C, you get the opportunity talk to loads of different people – the Associate Consultants who take you out for coffee, the Consultants, Managers and Partners that interview you. They are all really friendly people so make sure to ask questions!
