The massive prize in supporting driverless, like testing and compliance

This Forbes article is spot on: there is a gold rush to build driverless cars, but the easier money is in selling shovels.

Testing and certification of cars is a great example of an area which will grow enormously in a driverless future. Today we test the human driver, annually check the safety of the car, and insure the rest of the risk.

In the driverless future, with most complex potential liabilities, cars will be subject to a much more rigorous testing regime. As the author points out, the airline industry is a great analog.

Who is well placed to build this service? Perhaps automotive businesses with large mobile workforces, like AAA in the US, RAC in the UK or Belron?
