OC&C Launches Film Highlighting Its Global Social Impact

Still shot from filming the Common Good Series. A film presented by B Labs Global and produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions for OC&C

London, 8th July 2025 – We’re extremely proud and excited to share that our story in the Common Good series has officially launched.

Presented by B Labs Global and produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions for OC&C, Common Good takes viewers on a journey across 14 countries to explore the tangible impact B Corps are creating across industries and regions — protecting our planet, supporting communities, and reshaping business for the better.

A message from our Partner and Global Leader, ESG, Deidre Sorensen:

“While our B Corp™ certification formally began in October 2023, our ESG and impact agenda has been an integral part of how we do business for decades.

When we first spoke to BBC StoryWorks about taking part in this series, it sparked rich conversations about the stories we could share — from our path to net zero, our trailblazing Diversity & Inclusion policies and the work of our Diversity & Inclusion Networks, who champion our people and drive meaningful change across the firm.

In the end, we chose to focus on our pro bono efforts — not because these other areas matter less, but because pro bono sits at the intersection of the skills of our talented consultants and our social impact. It’s a story that resonates beyond our walls — one that connects directly to the communities we support and reflects the values we’re proud to stand for.

Our pro bono strategy work for charities is delivered with the same professionalism and strategic rigour as all our client engagements. It exemplifies how you can embed impact into the way professional services firms operate. Many of our commercial projects—whether advising clients on sustainability strategies or guiding them through climate-positive transformations—are rooted in the same approach. While not every client engagement focusses on these themes, a people-centric, impact-driven ethos underpins all our work.”

Where Strategy Meets Purpose

As part of our global pro bono programme, the film highlights our longstanding partnership with the NSPCC — the UK’s leading children’s charity, working to protect children and prevent abuse. In 2020 we supported them in developing a dedicated strategy to expand their safeguarding education into secondary schools — helping define the scope, structure, and delivery model for what is now a national programme, Talk Relationships.

The result is a scalable offer that supports teachers and students alike with inclusive, practical education on healthy relationships and harmful sexual behaviour.

While this film tells just one important story, it captures the spirit of many more — partnerships around the world where we help mission-led organisations tackle complex challenges.

The Power of People

Reflecting on the film’s launch, Global Director of People Danielle Lestrade commented:

“Our work attracts some of the brightest minds in strategy consulting — people who are energised by complex challenges and driven to make a real-world impact. Whether we’re advising a multinational client or supporting a charity through pro bono work, we apply the same skill, curiosity, and ambition.

Talent is at the heart of our success. We don’t just hire smart people — we develop them into leaders who shape industries and drive lasting change. That investment creates a virtuous cycle: great people deliver great work, which builds our reputation and unlocks opportunities to grow — for our people, our clients, and our pro bono partners.

Being part of this film gave us a moment to pause and reflect — not just on the outcomes we help achieve, but on the people behind them. It was a chance to celebrate the passion, brilliance, and impact our teams bring to everything they do — and it’s been a pleasure to share a glimpse of that through the camera.”

Deidre added:
“For those watching our film and the broader series, we hope it not only leaves viewers feeling uplifted, but also encourages business leaders to recognise the powerful role they can play in shaping a more positive future — and ultimately inspires others to use their people, skills, and platforms as a Force for good™.”
