We are pleased to announce that Nextalia SGR’s new fund Nextalia Capitale Rilancio has completed its first investment, Ca’Zampa Holding S.p.A., creating a leading group in Italy’s veterinary clinic market. This strategic move includes the acquisition of BluVet S.p.A. and three independent clinics, forming the new Ca’ Zampa Group. OC&C provided buyside due diligence to Nextalia SGR to support this deal.
Established in 2018, Ca’ Zampa is an innovative Italian initiative aiming to develop a national centre of excellence in the veterinary sector. The group offers a comprehensive range of services, from basic and specialist veterinary medicine to pet wellness care. Currently, Ca’ Zampa operates 18 facilities across Italy, some developed internally, and others acquired and integrated into its network.
BluVet, founded in 2019, is an Italian platform focused on consolidating medium to large veterinary clinics through mergers and acquisitions. Since its inception, BluVet has acquired over 25 veterinary clinics.
Nextalia SGR, established in 2021, is an asset management company promoted by Francesco Canzonieri, alongside leading Italian institutional investors such as Intesa Sanpaolo, UnipolSai Assicurazioni, Coldiretti, and Micheli Associati. The company aims to invest in the real economy and promote sustainable growth, acting as a reference platform for private market investments in Italy.
The newly formed Ca’ Zampa Group now comprises 18 Ca’ Zampa clinics and 27 BluVet facilities, including the Gregorio VII hospital in Rome, positioning it as a leader in Italy’s veterinary sector. With a scalable industrial model and an integrated platform, the group offers a wide range of specialised veterinary services, ensuring high levels of expertise. The integration of these entities allows Ca’ Zampa Group to optimise its veterinary services, leveraging operational and strategic synergies with a focus on excellence and animal welfare.
The group aims to continue its growth trajectory by acquiring new clinics and hospitals, with the objective of becoming the market leader in Italian veterinary care and the primary reference point for excellent pet care.
This transaction underscores Nextalia’s commitment to supporting Italian companies and promoting sustainable growth, leveraging its proprietary network and professional expertise to add value to its investments.
