Mairi Fairley Takes on Key Leadership Role

We are excited to announce that Mairi Fairley has been elected as Chair of OC&C’s Shareholder Committee, marking a significant milestone in our firm’s governance and leadership.

Mairi’s journey is one of exceptional achievement and leadership in professional services. She first joined OC&C in 2007, rising through the ranks as a retail strategy expert before stepping into industry to lead strategy and international at premium womenswear brand Hobbs, where she successfully built the international business, delivered a turnaround strategy and transaction before returning to OC&C.

Mairi has worked on both sides of the Atlantic, leading OC&Cs work in retail, apparel and lifestyle sectors globally. She has been a key voice in the apparel sector through non-executive and advisory work, while also being the first partner to champion flexible working and shared parental leave. For nearly a decade Mairi has played an active leadership role in the firm, holding roles including Global Head of Retail, positions on the Renumeration Committee, Election Committee and the Shareholder Committee over that time.

As Chair, Mairi will play a central role in supporting the long-term delivery of the firm’s strategy, providing counsel and support to the firm’s executive leadership team led by Global Managing Partner Will Hayllar. Central to this will be continuing to support the expansion and growth of the firm and ensuring it remains a leader in strategy consulting, and the best home for strategy talent.

A Trailblazer for Women in Leadership

As well as supporting her clients on best in class corporate strategy, operating model and due diligence projects over the years, Mairi is a prominent figure in the OC&C Women’s Network. In this role Mairi mentors, advocates, and champions career progression for women in consulting.

As a mother and business leader, she brings a unique and valued perspective on leadership, career progression, and being a working parent, demonstrating that success in high-performance industries does not require compromising personal priorities.
