OC&C celebrates Black History Month in October

In October OC&C will be recognising Black History Month 2020, taking the opportunity to celebrate and learn more about black history, culture, and the contributions of black individuals to society.

At a time where the global realities of racism have been laid bare and at the forefront of public discussion, now more than ever is the need to act strongest. This year, we are proud to be co-ordinating our Black History Month activities across all offices globally, with the hope that this acts as a springboard for black history to be discussed more widely.

We recognise that there are unique struggles and challenges both our black colleagues as well as the wider black community have faced and continue to face, and we are committed to actively doing our part to help. Part of this involves acknowledging that these challenges may not be immediately obvious and that now is a time for learning and listening. However, it is also about celebrating heroes and role models who have overcome adversity in order to be successful in their respective fields. As part of this, in October we will run a range of events acknowledging, promoting and celebrating the importance of black history.

All charitable donations raised during these events will be donated to the Stephen Lawrence Foundation, Campaign Zero, and Color of Change.
