What was your background prior to joining OC&C?

I’m from South Wales and went to my local comprehensive school, before going to sixth form in Cardiff then moving to London to study Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College. I decided to study engineering because I liked maths, wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with my life, and was told “It would keep my options open”. I didn’t know what consulting was until I was in my 3rd year and spoke to some friends from older years that had recently started their careers in consulting. During my uni holidays I worked as a shop assistant, and then before joining OC&C I spent 6 months working at a med tech start up looking into solutions age related hearing loss.

What’s your favourite OC&C experience?

OC&C puts a big emphasis on socialising with your teams and colleagues. My two favourite events have been the boat party on the Thames, the first big social event since Covid (and also my first big social event since being at OC&C), and also the Away Weekend where the whole London office had a few days away together just having a good time!

What do you like to get up to in your free time outside the office?

I like to keep active and have tried my hand at a lot of sports in recent years. Last year I was boxing, this year I’m cycling and running more and enjoying the excuse to explore the areas (and pub gardens) around London.

''The more you put into whatever you're doing, the more you get out of it. Stick your hand up and ask questions, put yourself forward, don't worry about looking a bit stupid. Life is more enjoyable and interesting this way.''
